India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty beat Chinese Taipei’s Lee Jhe and Huei-Yang Po Hsuan to win their second French Open title at the Porte de la Chapelle Arena on Sunday, March 10.
The Indian shuttling duo beat Yang and Lee 21-11, 21-17 to clinch the title. The Indian pair won the final in just 37 minutes to clinch their first title of the year.
Satwik and Chirag had booked a spot in the French Open final following a dominating win over reigning world champions Kang Minhyuk and Seo Seungjae of Korea 21-13, 21-16 in the men’s doubles semifinal in Paris.
This was the fourth straight French Open final for Satwik and Chirag, having lost their previous three title clashes in Paris.
The Indaian duo won the title at the Adidas Arena, the same venue where the 2024 Paris Olympics will be played later this year.
