Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan was certianly thrilled with the win over Sunrisers Hyderabad and ensured that he shared a warm embrace with his team’s match-winner Andre Russell on Saturday, March 23. Russell’s all-round performance played a vital role in KKR edging past SRH at the Eden Gardens.
Shah Rukh was present in the stadium for the match and was thrilled by the batting performance from Russell. He would take a victory lap around the ground after the game was done to great the fans and thank them. It was during this time the Bollywood star would meet Russell, who was about to start his interview with IPL.

Makes us want to do well for the franchise: Russell on SRK
Russell would talk about the influence of Shah Rukh on the team and said that his presence wants them to do well for the franchise and for him.
“I am happy to have him as a mega superstar. It makes us want to do well for the franchise and want to do well for him,” said Russell.
The all-rounder would also discuss about the work he has put in the last one year in terms of fitness and said he feels light with less weight off his knees.
“A lot of hardwork I have been doing over the last one year. I realized when you’re getting older, I have to cut back on certain things. Make sacrifices. I am happy with how my body feels. I feel light, less weight off my knees as well. The more cricket I play, the more stronger and leaner I will get. The more meaner I will perform as well,” said Russell.
Russell would score 64 off 25 deliveries and get two wickets as well during the match as KKR defeated SRH by 4 runs. Russell was adjudged as the Player Of The Match. KKR will face RCB next in their second match of IPL 2024 at Chinnaswamy on March 29.
