Punjab’s bowling coach Sunil Joshi has backed Harshal Patel to come good in the remaining games of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Harshal has picked up 3 wickets from 2 matches, but has leaked runs at an expensive economy rate of 11.50. In both games against Delhi and Bangalore, Harshal was entrusted to bowl in the death overs, but he failed to live up to the expectations.
In the match against Delhi, Abhishek Porel took him to the cleaners in the last over of the innings. Joshi, however, refrained from drawing a conclusion based on only 2 outings. He mentioned that Harshal would remain a key wicket-taking option for the Kings in the tournament.

‘Harshal is working on his economy rate’
“When you go to take wickets, your mindset will be that the batsmen will take the chance, so we people give them that opportunity, so they have that option with them,” Joshi told the reporters before the match against Lucknow on Saturday, March 30 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow .
“It is just the start of the season, it is still too early to come to a conclusion, but he is working on his economy rate, and he is our main top wicket-taker when it comes to death overs, so when you are giving runs in the death, obviously you will look to take wickets also,” he added.
PBKS is currently placed fifth in the table with 2 points and a net run rate of +0.025 thanks to wins in 1 out of 2 games. After beating Delhi by 4 wickets at the newly-built venue in Mullanpur, they lost to Bangalore by 4 wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
