“I have spent quite a lot of time with Ashish Nehra and I know how he trains the bowlers and maintains a good dressing room environment. I believe Gujarat Titans will be a great franchise for me,” Umesh Yadav told JioCinema after being picked up by Gujarat Titans.
Previously, the India pacer has played for the Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals. Umesh is one of the top ten Indian wicket-takers in the IPL, with 136 wickets.

Umesh would join Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma, who resurrected his IPL career last season under Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra. Umesh Yadav, who last appeared for India in the World Test Championship (WTC) final in June, has played in 186 T20 matches, taking 193 wickets at an average of 27.51 and an economy rate of 8.28.
“I have played World Cup 2015 with Mohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami. I am excited to be playing at Gujarat Titans under Ashish Nehra. I am ready to learn and also teach the youngsters at GT if need be,” Umesh added.
Umesh Yadav spent the last two IPL seasons with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he was acquired for Rs 2 crore in the IPL 2022 auction. The 36-year-old was released by KKR after taking just one wicket in eight IPL 2023 matches.
