Reportedly personal terms between Jarrad Branthwaite and Manchester United have already been agreed.

Manchester United’s search for a centre-back has probably come to an end. Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite is understood to have given the green light to arrive at Old Trafford. Transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed that Branthwaite’s switch to Manchester United is possible with the English centre-back himself agreeing to the move. As per a report published by GIVEMESPORT, personal terms between Branthwaite and Manchester United have already been agreed. The article went on to claim that Everton’s valuation, which is more than £70 million, is considered to be too expensive by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag and the team management. Everton are understood to be asking for up to £80 million for the 22-year-old defender.

Manchester United’s desire to rope in Jarrad Branthwaite is an open secret. Incoming assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is also known to be a huge admirer of the youngster, having earlier worked with him at PSV Eindhoven.

Previously, Sky Sports had claimed that Manchester United made their opening offer for Jarrad Branthwaite. Multiple sources, as per Sky Sports, suggested that the offer was in the region of £45 million. While Everton are expected to reject the offer, the Toffees face financial challenges which might force them to let go of some of their key players during the summer transfer window. With France’s World Cup-winning defender Raphael Varane’s departure from Old Trafford, Manchester United are determined to sign a center-back this summer.

Everton boss Sean Dyche recently admitted that preparing for next season appears to be quite difficult for them because of the uncertainty over the club’s potential takeover. “Ever since I got here I have been trying to manage a situation when the goalposts move significantly at any given time. That’s the shifting sands at this football club, currently. I’ve said many times you want to put a base into the football club to build from and it’s not quite there yet,” Dyche said, as per BBC.

Everton were docked eight points by the Premier League last season for violating the tournament’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR). The Merseyside-based outfit was slapped with a 10-point deduction for the first charge but it was later reduced to six following an appeal.
