Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Aadujeevitham has been one of the most anticipated Malayalam films. With a much generated pre-release, this much-delayed adaptation of the post-modern classic novel of the same name, penned by Benyamin is based on some real events. The survival drama, adapted by director Blessy for the big screen, is finally getting its official release date ahead of its festival run around the world.
The team shared a promo sometime back tracing the long and troubled shooting schedule of the movie, also including a snapshot of the various locations where the epic one-man odyssey was shot. The film outlines the hardships and suffering of an immigrant worker, trapped in a goat farm in the deserts of Sahara, who finds it impossible to escape the hellscape from his captors.
The newly released video maps the long journey of the film that began its production in Kerala in 2018, through many schedules in Jordan and Algeria. The team also shot most of the film in the sandy dunes of the Sahara desert throughout even amidst the COVID pandemic amidst other hardships including the lead actor Prithviraj Sukumaran suffering from physical uneasiness and blackouts, due to the intense weight loss that he underwent for the film, which also factored in the delayed production schedules.
Aadujeevitham co-stars Jimmy Jean-Louis, Amala Paul, Rik Aby and Talib al Balushi in important supporting roles. The team will be releasing the official release date for Aadujeevitham on November 30 at 4 PM IST. The film is bankrolled jointly by Visual Romance Image Makers, Jet Media Production and Alta Global Media. AR Rahman is composing the music, while Sunil KS cranks the camera.
