Nikhat Zareen Profile Boxing Paris Olympics 2024 Women’s 50kg
Nikhat Zareen hails from Nizamabad, Telangana. She started off her sporting career by taking up running. But curiosity led to her questioning the lack of girls participating in boxing and she took on the challenge.
After creating ripples at the youth-level, it was only a matter of time that she graduated to the senior level but that’s where she found her biggest challenges.
One of the biggest moments that helped her be in the spotlight was when she questioned the decision of the Boxing Federation of India’s call to send Mary Kom to the Asian Qualifiers for the 2020 Olympics without a fair trial. Her voice was heard but Nikhat was unable to go past the trial and missed the Tokyo Games.
Undeterred by the setback she moved on and managed to defend her world title in 2023 and made her the top draw in the flyweight category. She will now look to be the face of boxing in the long-run taking over the reins from the legendary Mary Kom and hope that she can be the first Indian boxer to get the gold medal.

Paris Olympics Qualification
Nikhat secured her qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics after claiming bronze at the 2023 Asian Games.
Recent Performances
She was able to take home the gold medal for the Elorda Cup where she beat Zhazaira Urakbayeva with a unanimous 5-0 scoreline in the 52 kg category. She suffered defeat at the Strandja Memorial final – losing 2-3 to Sabina Bobokulova.
