Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is basking in the success of the blockbuster success of his Vijay starrer Leo (2023), has established himself as a brand in Tamil cinema within a short span. The director is now making his debut as a producer with his new production house “ G Squad”, which will bankroll films by debutantants as well as associate directors, who have previously worked with Lokesh. The production house, which was set up recently, has also announced its very first venture with the action thriller Fight Club (2024), which will star Uriyadi Vijay Kumar in the lead role. Lokesh Kanagaraj shared the first look poster for the film which features a shirtless Vijaykumar in frame, with the rest of the supporting cast in the periphery of the frame.
The poster and the title of the film is a clear callback to the famous scene from David Fincher’s classic film Fight Club(1999) and Vijay Kumar’s image is a hat tip to Brad Pitt’s shirtless scene from the film by the looks of it. Fight Club is being written and directed by Abbas Rahmath, a former associate director of director Vijay Kumar, who is also headlining the film. Govind Vasantha is in charge of the music, while Leon Britto cranks the camera. The film will also feature Monisha Mohan Menon and Avinash Raghudevan in supporting roles.
