World Cup-winning former India captain MS Dhoni was invited to the much-anticipated “Pran Pratishtha ceremony” of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Chennai Super Kings captain was handed the invitation at his residence in Ranchi on Monday, January 15.
MS Dhoni was given the invite by Dhananjay Singh, co-province secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). State Organization General Secretary of BJP Karmaveer Singh was also present when the former cricketer was formally invited to the Ram temple consecration, scheduled for January 22 in Ayodhya.
MS Dhoni has become the latest cricketer to be invited to the Ram temple consecration ceremony after the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. Only on January 13, Sachin Tendulkar received an invitation. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has been taking care of sending invitations to over 6000 people in the country. Numerous celebrities from various spheres of life are expected to attend the Ram temple ceremony on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the event.
