Hardik Pandya congratulated Arshin Kulkarni after the latter scored a brilliant hundred in India’s Group match against the United States of America (USA) in the U19 World Cup 2024 match on Sunday, January 28 at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
Arshin scored 108 runs off 118 balls with the help of 8 fours and 3 sixes. On the back of his knock, India put up a massive score of 326 for the loss of 5 wickets. Thereafter, the Boys in Blue restricted the USA to 125 for 8 in 50 overs.
Arshin, who also bowls handy right-arm pace, won the Player of the Match award for his stupendous knock against the USA.
Hardik also had a cheeky message in store for Arshin over their jersey numbers. Both Hardik and Arshin don jersey No.33.
“Excellent performance yesterday, Arshin. Congratulations and my best wishes for your future. Good choice on the number,” Hardik wrote on his Instagram story.
‘Happiest child’ Arshin Kulkarni
Arshin was over the moon after getting to score a hundred in front of his parents. The youngster revealed how his mother motivated him to perform well for India in the World Cup.
“I am like the happiest child in this world. It’s a very big moment for me and for my mother and father. They just dreamed of me playing for India and two days before she just told me that ‘I want to see you get that medal and also score a century’. And finally I was able to do it in front of her,” Arshin said.
India won all their matches in the group stage and went into the Super 6s unbeaten.
India’s first match in the Super 6 is against New Zealand on Tuesday, January 29.
As far as Hardik is concerned, he is currently gearing up to play for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
