Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar Profile Shooting Paris Olympics 2024 Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions: Know your Olympian
Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar will be India’s youngest athlete to present twice at the Olympics. Aishwary has already achieved several accolades at the age of just 23. He was the leading Indian shooter at the Hangzhou Asian Games where he won four medals– two gold, one silver and one bronze. Aishwary always wanted to be a shooter and moved away from his family at the age of 14 to pursue his dream. He registered podium finishes in the Junior World Championships and the transition to the senior circuit was seamless.
Aishwary hails from Khargone, where he could not find any proper training facility which prompted him to shift to Bhopal. When he started to gain global attention, Aishwary returned to his hometown and decided to open a shooting academy there. He invested over Rs 5 lakhs to arrange the weapons and also donated other training gear such as jackets and trousers, as reported by the New Indian Express.
“I had to leave my family and friends to pursue my passion so I thought why not start a facility in Khargone for those who are interested in shooting?” Aishwary told the outlet. He was assisted by his cousin Navdeep Singh Rathore who is also an international shooter. Aishwary made his Olympics debut in the last edition in Tokyo. Competing in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions, the youngster registered a score of 1167 and finished 21st.
