Brad Hogg is of the opinion that RCB made a poor choice by making the trade for Cameron Green from the Mumbai Indians.

Having spent just one season with MI, where he scored 452 runs in 16 matches and picked up six wickets, Green was traded to RCB in order to facilitate Hardik Panyda’s trade from Gujarat Titans.

The Bengaluru outfit bought the Aussie all-rounder for a whopping 17.5 crores, which Hogg feels isn’t a good choice. Speaking in a video on his Instagram profile, the former spinner said that RCB couldn’t resist and swooped in for Green thinking he would be costly in the auction.

Hogg said that RCB made a poor choice as they have already spend big on their bowling lineup and are a bit short when it comes to funds for buying quality bowlers.

Hogg also felt that Green would have been best suited at another franchise rather than RCB.

“Mumbai Indians. They threw Cameron Green out there for a little bit of trade bait, trying to free up some cash to get Hardik Pandya into their squad. It worked a treat as RCB couldn’t resist.”

“They swooped in there, not wanting Cameron Green to go back to the auction, thinking they might have had to pay a little bit more for the all rounder.”

“Is he worth it? RCB. I’m looking at their lineup. I think this is a poor choice. Nothing against Cameron Green’s talent. He was good quality for Mumbai Indians last year. But if you look at RCB list, they spend big on their batting line up.”

“They don’t have enough cash there to spend on quality bowlers. And if you’re gonna win an IPL, it’s a defensive game. You need quality bowlers to be able to defend totals and set the game up. So for me, I think this is a poor choice from RCB. I think Cameron Green could have been suited at another club, but they made the choice and I don’t think it’s a good thing for RCB,” said Hogg.
