Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James continues to defy time as he prepares for his 22nd NBA season with an intense training session. The 39-year-old has established himself as one of the modern greats in the NBA. With the Lakers gearing up for a fresh season under new coach JJ Redick, LeBron remains a constant in the squad. Despite nearing his 40s, the American basketball star continues to defy his age by producing spectacular numbers in the tournament. As he prepares for the upcoming season, LeBron recently shared a few pictures of his latest training session on Instagram.
James can be seen in peak physical condition in the series of photographs he shared on Instagram. The multi-time NBA champion performed several exercises with high intensity while nodding to the beat of the music playing on his earphones. He looked completely charged up for what could be another historic year for him and the Lakers in the NBA.
The first preseason game for the Los Angeles Lakers has been scheduled for next month on October 4. Whereas, the regular NBA season kicks off on October 22 for the side. With the Lakers’ tournament opener scheduled against the Minnesota Timberwolves, all eyes will be set on LeBron. The four-time NBA and MVP-winning star has shown no signs of slowing down. He averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists last season while also producing a career-best 41% from beyond the arc.
Fans will also have the opportunity to witness LeBron James compete alongside his son Bronny James in the upcoming season. The Los Angeles Lakers made minor moves as they brought in Collins Castleton and Christian Kolko on two-way contracts before re-signing Max Christie. But the most intriguing addition was signing Bronny during the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. LeBron also spoke about the prospect of sharing the court with his son during an episode of The Ship on Uninterrupted. Speaking about how he would not accept his son calling him ‘Dad’ during a game, LeBron said, “But he cannot, we cannot be running down the court and he’d be like ‘Dad, push the ball up. Dad I’m open! Dad, come on!’ No, you cannot do that.”
James recently signed a contract renewal with the Los Angeles Lakers with a player option that he can trigger next month, should he choose to do so. His latest deal has been valued at $104 million.
