India is all set to take on Afghanistan in the third and final match of their T20I series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday, January 17.

IND vs AFG, 3rd T20I: Preview

India will be looking to clean-sweep the Afghans, having won the opening two T20Is of the three-match series. India first registered a 6-wicket win at the PCA Stadium in Mohali on the back of a brilliant half-century from all-rounder Shivam Dube.

The Men in Blue repeated the trick at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, beating Afghanistan by 6 wickets. Dube once again scored an unbeaten half-century, while opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed a 34-ball 68.

The first T20I saw Rohit Sharma make a return as the skipper of the side, having not played the shortest format of the game for India in over 14 months. However, his T20I comeback hasn’t gone to plan, having been dismissed for ducks in both the matches.

Meanwhile, India superstar batter Virat Kohli also made his T20I comeback, having last played the format in the 2022 T20 World Cup when England beat India by 10 wickets in the semi-final. Kohli scored 29 runs off 16 deliveries to help India chase down 173 runs with ease in Indore.

BENGALURU WEATHER REPORT

The weather conditions in Bengaluru are expected to be clear today with no chances of rain. There might be slight cloud cover during the evening, which is expected to go down as the day progresses.

The temperature will fluctuate between 20 degrees and 27 degrees in the evening with 50-60 per cent humidity.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium is known to be a batters paradise with its short boundaries. India’s match against Afghanistan promises to be a high-scoring affair. All eyes will be on Kohli, as he returns to his IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore’s home ground for the final match of the series.

This series is India’s last international assignment ahead of the T20 World Cup, which begins from June 1. India will look to make the most of this match and the upcoming 17th edition of IPL in order to figure out their combination for the marquee tournament.
