Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians and Indian cricket teammate, Suryakumar Yadav was awestruck by his massive pull shot off Mark Wood’s gun delivery during the 5th Test between India and England at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala on March 7, Thursday.
During India’s 1st innings, Rohit did what he does the best as he pulled away Wood’s delivery for a huge six. But this was not an ordinary delivery as Wood clocked 151.2 kmph. However, that didn’t stop Rohit from pulling out his best shot from his arsenal as he deposited Wood’s fiery delivery into the stands.

ROHIT LEADS FROM FRONT
This was the first six of India’s innings as Yashasvi Jaiswal soon sent 3 deliveries off Shoaib Bashir’s over out of the park. The openers shared a 104-run stand and Jaiswal was dismissed by Bashir at 57 runs. Soon, Shubman Gill joined Rohit at the crease and the Indian skipper notched up his 18th half-century. En-route to his fifty, Rohit also surpassed the 1000-run mark as India’s Test captain. He became only the 10th Indian captain to achieve this feat.
Rohit and Gill remained unbeaten at 52 and 26 runs respectively, as India ended Day 1 at 135 for 1. Earlier in the day, England were bundled out for 218 runs in an impeccable display of bowing by the Indian bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav picked up a 5-wicket haul as the England team were reduced from 175 for 3 and lost the last 7 wickets for just 43 runs.
It was a spinner’s day out as all the 10 wickets were taken by the Indian spinners. Ravichandran Ashwin, on his milestone 100th Test, picked up a 4-wicket haul and Ravindra Jadeja also accounted for a wicket.
India already leads the 5-match series 3-1 and would look to end with a win to get some crucial WTC points.
