Former coach Ravi Shastri congratulated India on another dominant series win and also reminded England for the scoreline after the victory in the Dharamsala Test on March 9, Saturday.

India continued their unbeaten run at home since the 2012 series loss to England with another dominant performance in the fifth Test, which they ended up winning by an innings and 64 runs.

Shastri took to X to congratulate the Indian team, calling the win another series thrashing of England.

“13 years gone by. 14 Tests played. 12 to India. 2 England. No contests. Another series thrashing. Well done Team India,” said Shastri on X.

How well did India perform in Dharamsala?

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill’s hundreds and a spin-bowling masterclass from R Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav made sure India deflated England’s hopes of a consolation win in Dharamsala. | Dharamsala Test, India vs England: Scorecard |

Ashwin picked up a 5-wicket haul in his 100th Test while Jasprit Bumrah ran through the lower-order as India bundled England out for 197 in the final innings. England did not last 60 overs in either innings of the 5th Test as their batting flop show saw a third-day finish in the series for the first time.

It represented an incredible turnaround for the Indian team as they had lost the first Test by 28 runs. India would bounce back with a win in Vizag before dominating England in Rajkot to take the 2-1 lead in the series.

India had Dhruv Jurel’s heroics to thank in Ranchi before completing the rout in Dharamsala.

Rohit gave credit to the entire team and said it was pleasing to see the performance in the 5th Test.

“The credit goes to the entire team and it was pleasing to see. When you win a series like this, we talk about scoring runs and 100s but it is important to take 20 wickets to win a Test. The way bowlers took responsibility was pleasing to see,” said Rohit.
