India have dominated Day 1 of the final Test match against England in Dharamsala. Led by captain Rohit Sharma, India finished the opening day strong after bowling out England for just 218 runs in the first innings of the match.
Rohit looked assured throughout Day 1 of the Test match and added 100+ run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal and helped India build their dominance in the final Test match. Former India cricketer Saba Karim lauded the batter at the start of Day 2 and said that Sharma is enjoying the challenges in Test series.
Sharma has had a lot on his plate in the series. India did not have the services of Virat Kohli in the Test match, and then lost KL Rahul due to injury. The team dropped Shreyas Iyer due to poor form and were forced to give debuts to five India players.

Saba Karim lauded Rohit for his batting in the Rajkot and Dharamsala Test match and said that Rohit has shown his experience in the series.
“You’ve seen that in Rajkot, the team was in a difficult situation and he came out with a 100. He’s someone who is enjoying the challenges. That is something as an experienced player, you thrive on these kinds of situations. Yesterday, that balance was there, he was in his elements that pull off the short ball to Wood is an indication of he’s doing well,” Saba Karim told Jio Cinema ahead of the day’s play on March 8.
Former England cricketer Nick Knight was impressed with Rohit’s leadership abilities and felt that he has not been given enough credit in this series.
“I’ll start with Rohit. I won’t necessarily start with his batting because it kind of looks after itself for the moment. But I would want to pick out the leader in Rohit. 5 debutants in the series, several senior players, not available for various reasons. That puts pressure on the captaincy. Put pressure on how you deal with your dressing room. It puts pressure on how you get the best out of those debutants, and all of that is a massive tick. I have been super impressed with the way he’s led the side with the side that was under pressure,” Knight said.
Sharma started Day 2 of the Test match aggressively and attacked James Anderson and Shoaib Bashir. At the time of writing, Sharma had scored 80 off 126 balls.
