India is set to take on England for the 2nd Test of the 5-match series in Vizag that begins on February 2, Friday. The hosts will look to bounce back after suffering a defeat by 28 runs in the 1st Test in Hyderabad.
A depleted Indian team will take the field against a spirited England team with the likes of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja being the key absentees from the team for the 2nd Test. Rahul complained of pain in his right quadriceps and Jadeja is currently at the NCA in Bengaluru after suffering a hamstring injury and hence, both were ruled out of the 2nd Test. The 2 players made crucial contributions with the bat in the 1st innings of the 1st Test as Jadeja scored 87 runs and Ragul played an 86-run knock to help India take a 190-run lead.

In their absence, Sarfaraz Khan, Saurabh Kumar and Washington Sundar have been included in India’s squad. The focus will be on Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, who have looked out-of-touch in red-ball cricket. Gill and Iyer would look to score runs and redeem themselves after a string of low totals in Test cricket.

The weather forecast from February 2, Friday to February 6, indicates pleasant weather conditions with a maximum temperature of 34° C and a minimum temperature of 22° C. The weather is expected to offer a favourable condition for most of the match. However, there are slight chances of rain affecting the match. There are predictions of about 25% rainfall during the first 3 days of the Test match. The chances of rain will decrease furthermore to 5% on Day 4 and 1% on Day 5 of the Test match. But, the thunderstorm is unlikely to wash out the day’s play.
