Sarfaraz Khan had a day to remember in Rajkot on February 15, as the Indian batter a ‘weight was off his shoulders’ as he fulfilled his father’s dream of representing India. Sarfaraz scored a brilliant 62 off 66 balls against England in Rajkot in his debut innings.
“I was just very happy. I wanted to play India once during my father’s lifetime. That was my one dream. So only that was running in my mind.”
“My father was not coming first for the match. After that some people told him to go to the match, this is the proudest moment. So obviously, he had to come because he had worked so hard for this day.”
“So the only thing that was running in my mind was that I will take the cap in front of him. He was also emotional. My wife was also emotional. It felt like some of the burden had been lifted of me as the work he had in put in for me, I didn’t let it go to waste,” said Sarfaraz.
