Harmanpreet Kaur was left speechless after India hammered England by 347 runs in the Women’s Test at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. The Indian skipper played her first Test match at home since the match against South Africa way back in 2014 in Mysore.

The 34-year-old Harmanpreet, who has played four Tests thus far in her career, was delighted with India’s performance in the game.

“To be honest, I am blank right now. I am not able to get my words together and explain how I am feeling. It’s a very emotional feeling for me because I was playing a Test match after a long time. The match turned out to be one-sided. It’s great,” Harmanpreet said in an interview with Jemimah Rodrigues, uploaded on BCCI’s official website.

Harmanpreet also praised the national team for putting in a lot of energy on the field. She said that India can change the courses of many matches by staying vibrant on the field.

“The energy you guys bring whenever we are on the field is something very special. I feel in a team if you have that energy, you can go and change any game any day,” she added.

Harmanpreet played a crucial role as a batter as well, getting scores of 49 and 44 not out respectively. She missed out on a half-century in the first innings after getting out at the striker’s end following a direct hit from Danni Wyatt.

After set a huge target of 479 for Heather Knight’s England to chase down, India bowled their opposition out for 131 in 27.3 overs. Deepti Sharma became the Player of the Match for scoring a half-century and picking up nine wickets, including a five-wicket haul. Shubha Satheesh and Jemimah Rodrigues also impressed on their Test debuts with half-centuries.
