Lovlina Borgohain Profile Boxing Paris Olympics 2024 Women’s 75 KG
Looking to take Indian boxing to the next level, all eyes will be on Lovlina Borgohain who is India’s frontrunner to secure a medal at the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. She comes from a remote settlement in Assam called Baromukhia in the Golaghat district.
She was inspired to take up martial arts by her sisters and started off with Muay Thai and happened to come across the Indian boxing coach Padum Boro during one of the trials which made her switch to boxing.
She did not take very long to get to the top of the junior levels in the national categories. Her senior career saw her amongst the legendary Mary Kom as she became the second to secure an Olympic Bronze medal in Tokyo 2020 and a gold at the World Boxing Championships. She will be competing in the middleweight category where she won her maiden World title in 2023.
She isn’t going to rest on her past laurels and will aim for the gold, and take Indian boxing to greater heights. Her tenacity and determination to break through poverty and become the face of Indian boxing is certainly an inspiring one for the masses.

She won the silver medal in the Asian Games 2023 which confirmed her spot in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Recent Performances
She managed to bag the silver medal for the Grand Prix 2024 competition held in the Czech Republic where she lost 2-3 to Li Qian of China on the final day of the competition. At the Strandja Memorial, she suffered a loss via disqualification after she received her third warning for excessive grappling
