Rinku Singh got to his maiden T20I fifty for India during the second T20I match against South Africa in Gqeberha on December 12.
Rinku made a significant mark in the T20 series against Australia. Since his debut for the Indian T20I team in August 2023, Rinku has been a revelation, particularly shining in the finisher’s role. His prowess was on full display during the fourth T20I, where he played a pivotal innings, scoring 46 runs off just 29 balls. This performance included a massive 100-meter six that left spectators and commentators in awe.

He would end up scoring 105 runs in five matches against Australia and had a strike-rate above 160.
The focus for Rinku shifted to the South Africa tour as he will also be representing India during the ODI series as well as he got his maiden call-up.
The southpaw came in with India losing three wickets in the powerplay overs. India had just lost Tilak Varma at that point after both the openers failed at the St. George’s Oval to leave India in precarious position.
However, the 25-year-old’s innings would slow down a bit and he had a scare when Aiden Markram had seemingly trapped in front of the stumps.
However, after a successful review, Rinku would change gears and along with Suryakumar Yadav, who scored his 17th T20I fifty, got India over the 100-run mark. After the dismissal of Suryakumar, Rinku took on the mantle to get some quicks runs on the board and hit three boundaries off Lizaad Williams’ over.
Rinku would reach his fifty in just 30 balls and his innings consisted of nine boundaries. The southpaw struggled for a bit in the end but started to free his arms with two big sixes against Markram. However, the final over was halted due to rain.
