Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning was spotted having a chat with former BCCI president and current Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, ahead of the WPL 2024 opener against Mumbai Indians.
Lanning and Co will be looking to start the campaign on a positive note after missing out on the title by a whisker in the first season to MI.
The former Australian skipper was pictured alongside Ganguly ahead of the opener in Bengaluru on February 22 in a deep conversation as DC made a post on their official X account.
Coming into WPL 2024 with a lot of confidence: Lanning
Lanning had commented ahead of the WPL 2024 season and said that the preparations has been great as they got more time to spend as a squad this year.
“Our preparations have been great. We’ve had a bit more time to get together as a squad this year. We’ve had some camps throughout the year as well, which has helped the players to improve,” said Lanning.

Lanning also said she had been looking forward to the WPL 2024 season for a while and has arrived for the tournament this year with a lot of confidence.
“I’ve been looking forward to this tournament for a while. It was great to be a part of this tournament last season. I’ve been playing some cricket in Australia. I am coming into this tournament with confidence and looking forward to helping the Delhi Capitals win as many games as possible,” said Lanning.

With the WPL 2024 set to play out in Bengaluru during the first phase, Lanning said that the team has enjoyed their time in the city. The DC skipper was also happy to see the WPL moving to different cities this season.
“I have not been to Bengaluru before so it’s been nice to experience a new city. The girls and I have thoroughly enjoyed being here so far. The people of the city love their cricket and support the game extremely well. It’s great that the WPL is moving to different cities and exposing the game to different fans.”
